July 14th wasn’t just Bastille Day (Bonne Fête, France!) but it would have also been Klimt’s 157th birthday! Bon Anniversaire to one of our favorites!
Here are some Art Adventures projects inspired by his art!
(Spring & Summer Camp 2019. Ages 7-10)
JUNE ZOOMED by and we had a BLAST! Check out some of our favorite highlights of this 2019 Art Camp season:
WEEK ONE- June 10 – June 14:
“TEAMWORK MADE THE DREAMWORK!”
Our Art Camp Adventurers (Ages 4-9) demonstrated FANTASTIC teamwork skills!
AND our 9 year olds truly shined with their leadership roles, guiding the 4-5 year olds in grouting their Mosaics!
WEEK TWO- June 24 – June 28:
Exploring SO MANY NEW
Materials, Artists & ART Techniques!
From using glass paints to a multitude of recycled objects and even candy, Week 2 Camp Adventures was filled with unique materials, techniques, Modern & Contemporary Artists!
Last night, Claire had the honor of meeting Mr. Kentridge at the “Head & the Load” performance at the Park Avenue Armory and shared with him her passion for bringing his work into the classroom for children.
Welcome to July and Summertime! Happy 4th! As we all prepare for our BBQ’s, beach time & NYC roof top fun, we are also SO EXCITED about all the Art fun we’re planning for our Fall Season.
Want an outdoors art project the whole family can enjoy? Try our Matisse Cutout inspired bubble paintings! A popular project during our summer camps AND our Fall after-school program starting in September! Click HERE for more info on FALL REGISTRATION!

Inspired by William Kentridge (click link for more on the artist) and his charcoal stop-motion animations during our week 1 of June Art Camp…we created our own! Working in teams, our 8-9 year old campers created Charcoal Drawing animations while our 5-6 year old campers created Dry Erase Marker Drawing animations. These teams created new friendships through their daunting collaborations!

We had a BLAST learning about art history, contemporary artists & even NYC history for this week!
Daily painting, storytelling through collaging, creating art with found objects & other mixed media and even directing, producing AND animating a short stop-motion film, was all in our mix for the week! So PROUD.
