As we prepare for our Fall 2019 school art year, we are coming across many articles regarding STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, ART & Math). The integration of the Arts in our current education system is so vital in children’s needs.
Here is an interesting read that further discusses STEAM.
Art Adventures believes in it. Thats why we incorporate this in our after school art league programming.

What a beautiful week to make art in the park…Central Park! We made like an Impressionist and went en plein air for our 6-9’s Art Adventures.
Our challenge: to paint a landscape outside using a combination of 3 materials- pencil, craypas AND watercolor.
We practiced some tree drawing techniques: the Y technique- drawing branches in the shape of Y’s!
We learned different techniques in watercolor & wax resist with craypas
and background, mid-ground and foreground to capture a more realistic landscape
The day FINALLY arrived: slime day. For part 2 of our Joseph Cornell inspired Assemblage Art Apothecary Shadow Boxes- we created our slime jars to fill our shelves
