WOODAABE POUCHES

LESSON OF THE WEEK (3-5’s)

WOODAABE POUCHES

The people of the African tribe, Woodaabe, are known to idealize and celebrate beauty; some may even call them narcissists. The tribesmen wear Woodaabe pouches around their necks decorated with found objects such as beads, buttons, and copper along with a mirror. Students will create their own Woodaabe Pouches using yarn, construction paper, founds objects like beads, buttons, and pieces of copper.

Skills: cutting, gluing, measuring, and folding
