Art Adventures @ The METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART this week at CCA!

We’re taking our Art Adventure, Studio, and Mini’s classes to the Met this week! Its all about exploring all the different art movements, forms, processes and cultures that the museum has to offer while creating fun and exciting art projects ….in front of famous ART!

This adventure brings us to a few spots @ The Met:

Children are introduced to modern and contemporary artists and diverse cultures using a wide variety of media and techniques including: paint, clay, wood, plaster, papier-mâché, wire, fabric, sun prints, dioramas, recyclables and more! Myriad museums and galleries of NYC provide us with ample ideas from which to create, keeping our curriculum current with the art world of today. Children go on a trip to a NYC museum or gallery each semester. French may be added to any class upon request.

This class will have a longer class time and will be introduced to more advanced techniques and art vocabulary related to elevated media such as a variety of higher-end artist pencils, pastels, charcoals & paints intertwined with the use of the above media exploration.

Class size is limited to 12 children.

Upcoming10-14 years / Art Adventures Studio / Tuesdays 4:15-5:45pm


 

(1 hour, 30 min.) (Min. 4/ Max 8)

This studio class is a place for students to use the artistic process as a means to make choices to express who they are as individuals.

Students are introduced to modern and contemporary artists using a wide variety of media and techniques including: paint, specialty pencils, pastels, charcoal, blending tools, clay, wood, plaster, wire, fabric, stop-motion animation and more.  Students also learn techniques to recreate what they see through live model drawing (clothed) and still life.  There will be a focus on portfolio building for older students.  Please visit the Art Adventures page for more information.

Myriad museums and galleries of NYC provide us with ample ideas from which to create, keeping our curriculum current with the art world of today. Students take 2 trips to U.E.S. galleries and Museums during the semester to be inspired in their own processes.  Visiting contemporary artists also share their techniques in this class.  Sketchbooks are kept in class to reinforce topics and to record development throughout the year.

ExpiredLate 3-7 years / January 2-4th Mini-Camp! (1-3 pm/ T-TH)


 

(2 hours)  Ages: Late 3- 7’s

Afternoons 1 pm – 3 pm

Register by December 19th to reserve your child’s space.

Sprinkled with contemporary artists + inspirational projects, these 3 days are gonna fly!

Each year there are new artists and museum exhibitions to explore.  Summer & Mini-camps are for longer art-making, larger-scale projects and diverse classes each day…Exploring many artists and their processes, right here in the Big Apple. Diverse materials are our forte! Clay, wood, metal, fabric, found objects, paint and more! Everything to inspire your child’s imagination and creativity.  Your children will enjoy daily easel painting, group murals, free-choice art stations, story telling + inspiring art processes to tantalize and engage every age and skill level at All Souls Church.  *French is also easily integrated into daily lessons.  Click Here to see how.

Children will visit a NYC museum or gallery each semester to learn hands-on art-making in front of the artist’s works as well as learn general museum etiquette.
