Upcoming2–3 years / Mini-Art Adventures / Tuesdays 10:15-11am

(45 min.) Age group: 2–3 years with Adult. (Min. 3/ Max 6)

The Curriculum is responsive to the developmental needs of each age group, carefully tailored and ever changing to suit the children’s interests.  Instead of rushing  children through activities, they are given ample opportunity to be active collaborators in the design of their class. Using a wide range of interesting art materials such as clay, wire, eyedroppers, diverse painting tools and techniques (to name a few) children explore, identify and reinforce language, colors, shapes, numbers while practicing motor skills and appropriate art language in a fun and nurturing environment. Adults engage in this class while learning techniques to foster the joy of learning art as well as age appopriate art language.  Each class begins with our unique group “sticky mural” decoration, with thematic items changing each week. Song and storytelling are included in this comprehensive class.  Through all of our activities, our goal is to promote confidence through choice-making as well as the freedom of self-expression while applauding and encouraging each stage of development.

Class size is limited to 12 participants/ 6 children.

*Pickup or drop-off is available for All Souls School/Church programs only.

5% Discount for All Souls School Children & Siblings!

DId you know Yayoi Kusama is in town?

One of our many favorite contemporary artists’ work is in town with her MoMA PS1 exhibit at Ft. Tilden! Planning on going to the beach this Labor Day weekend? Go to the Rockaways to check out, Narcissus Garden (click link for more on the exhibit).

A perfect send off to this summer before the school year begins. Closes on Labor Day.

CCA project Highlight: Yayoi Kusama inspired Infinity Room Dioramas!

Summer Art Adventures with Giacometti @ The Guggenheim!

We continue to prepare for this Fall and our Summer tours by taking a trip to the Guggenheim this weekend to see the current exhibit on Giacometti. (click for more info on the exhibition)!

While mostly known for his sculptures, Giacometti was also a prominent Painter AND Printmaker. Who knew! He experimented & created multiple prints starting with wood etching with his father, Giovanni Giacometti (well known Swiss Impressionist Painter) when he was still a schoolboy!

A super educational retrospective and must see before it closes on September 12th!

FUN GIACOMETTI FACT: Ever notice how shadows are long and thin? Many of Giacometti’s sculptures are actually from his observation of the shadow!

We highly recommend visiting. Can’t make it with the family? Leave it to us to give your little Art Adventurer a tour!

Don’t miss this fun and exciting exhibition full of art learning opportunities for your little artist! We are pumped to share our sculpture and drawing projects with you.
