Yoga Adventures for Youth (Y.A.Y.) teaches children simple breathing, stretching and relaxation exercises to improve balance (in every sense of the word!), focus and flexibility. Y.A.Y. helps children find calm and strength through focus on breath, balancing physical exertion with deep relaxation, and the related philosophies of mindfulness and loving kindness.

In her classes, Ms. Jenny brings key yoga poses to life with age and seasonally-appropriate storytelling, as well as always being alert to the possibilities of interactions with the children’s imaginations.

A mat is preferred, though no prior experience of yoga is needed. A super way for your youngest ones to naturally improve their energy levels and focus – and work on that perfect posture!

Early Years Yoga:  Ages 4-6 |  10:30 AM – 11:15 AM

Using song, stories, puppets and play, the calming, strengthening and balancing benefits of yoga will be introduced to children. Simple breathing, stretching and relaxation exercises are proven to improve focus, flexibility and well-being. Early Years Yoga encourages mindfulness and healthy choices and stimulates creative imaginations.

Junior Yoga:  Ages 6-10 |  11:15 AM – 12:15 PM

Includes drama games and activities to build on the emotional, physical and mental benefits of yoga. As Mood Artists, yogis aim to incorporate mindfulness into the choices they make and encourage kindness and cooperation in all of their work and play together. A great way to start the weekend!

Meet the instructor: Jenny Green

Actor & Producing Artist Jenny Green has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. Jenny has been working in early years education in NYC for more than 10 years and began leading a Pre-K/Kindergarten yoga class on zoom for The British International School NY shortly after Covid-19 sent schools into home-learning. After completing her children’s yoga training with ‘Om Schooled’ she had been teaching children’s yoga in person for the past 2 years.
