Last week was all about Cave Art! This two day project included creating stamps from model magic and drawing with new materials. Exploring lines and shapes and even tracing our hands with craypas and pastels. Our Mini Adventurers finished the day “painting” cave art animals with natural elements:
Last week our mini’s class had so much fun exploring the imagination with our visiting artist, Dino O’Dell- It was a day filled with music storytelling and monsters!
Thanks again Dino!
This week, our Studio class takes a turn as we invite visiting artist, Katie Grammes to give us a fashion history lesson through the making of different Era inspired hats!
This 2 day project is just in time for Halloween. What era and/or theme will our Adventurers use to create their hat costume?
Visiting Artist, Dino O’Dell will share with CCA Mini’s Art Adventure’s class his wonderfully creative songs, stories and illustrations! We will take one character from his celebrated story, Zara and the Broken Spaceship and recreate our own versions with collage, fine motor skill challenges and of course- thinking and being silly!
When Dino heard about what we created for the children’s collaborative art project, he said “This is gonna be fun!”
Let’s see what he thinks after he sees the children’s versions! Coming Up….
A great way to appreciate ART, spend time with your family…and make Art

As a very special Mother’s Day gift, our Art Adventurers sharpened their cutting skills and “toned” in on their color combination choices to create these vibrant Chihuly inspired Macchia Bowls! Using nature as his main source of inspiration, glass artist, Dale Chihuly creates these magnificent stained glass organic sculptures.

AND You can see these sculptures up close and personal right here in NYC! Stop by the NY Botanical Gardens to see one of our contemporary artist inspirations first hand!
Happy Spring! In celebration of Spring & Earth Day and taking inspiration from the beautiful stained glass of Tiffany’s Studio, our Art Adventurers painted with glass paints last week! We chose our favorite spring flower, practiced our skills with outlining and were introduced to painting with this very special type of paint on transparencies.
Just look at the great color combinations with differing opaque and transparent color choices!
A Happy day after Valentine’s Day with captured heart and winter moments in a snow globe! Students built their very own winter scene in a globe using different seasonal elements and objects and hot glue. We then sealed it with glitter reminiscent of snow in distilled water and voila! What a great way to spend time with your loved ones by making art!
Our Art Adventurers came up with some silly and interesting illustrations last week! After cutting out different shapes from our textures, we collaged to share a scene and tell a story. What great storytellers and a great way to end our Fall Semester!
