Art Adventures ONLINE Summer Camps 2020

Check out CCA’s ALL NEW exciting collaborations with Central Studio Academy and artist Jonathan Lev for inspiring creative summer camps!

 

This year, our goal is to collaborate with artists to make today’s world a better place. Claire unites many arts and artists into the following  programs to engage youth (through teens!) this summer… Including dancers, writers & fine artists who contribute their specialties to be part of growth, courage & empowerment thorugh Fine & Performing Arts.

 

  1. Art Adventures, in collaboration with Central Studio Academy presents: DanceArt Camps!  

Ages 3.5 – 8.  (Each week is based on a different book in this series & breaks up your morning with fun, creativity & dance.  Click the dates below to register.)

June 15 – July 19  / June 22 – June 26 /  June 29 – July 3  /  July 6 – July 10 / July 13  – July 17  
$500/wk. Single Week registration available (Register 1-week prior to camp start date, for timely receipt of Art Kit & to avoid expedited shipping fees.)  $25 registration fee. Full 5-Week registration saves $100.  Sibling Discount 40%
Monday – Friday Mornings (approx. 3.5 hours, mix of pre-recorded and live content) 9:30am – 1:45pm (suggested, daily schedule sample below.)

Overview:  

  • Storytelling, Characters & Scene: Drawing & Building
  • Dance, Music & Movement
  • Daily Warm-up Drawing Games & Drawing Sessions
  • Including: 
    • Weekly Art Kits for Characters, Scene-Building and Mini-Theater, per week, per student.  
    • Daily live engagement- to keep students inspired and motivated
    • Friday classes are Live with with Claire and Mary Ellen (Founder of Central Studio Academy)
    • French & Spanish practice
    • Even lunch is art!  “Rendezvous” (Art, French & Lunch) has transformed into an engaging ART EYE-SPY to use with your food! (Just like at school.)  Which lines, shapes and colors is Ms. Claire eating?  Includes daily French numbers & colors.  Bon Appétit!

Children become a master of thier worlds through a collage of 3+ hours of daily content with live & recorded daily engagement. Campers can work at their own pace and time of day convenient for your family.  You will recieve a suggested time schedule to help frame your active day. (Calendar plug-in, if desired.)

All materials are mailed out to you prior to the start of camp in weekly Art Kits. Virtual Fun is provided by Claire and Mary Ellen through Google classroom and 30 min. online live-stream sessions “Check-in/Art Share” each camp day at 1:15 pm;  Children may share what they’ve made & ask questions.  The week culminates in Friday Live Days with your teachers… having fun dancing, performing and sharing their own stories with what they’ve made throughout the week.  Invite family & Friends!

Themes:  Walk through the snowy unknown and shadowy ice valleys throughout the hot summer. Your camper reads (or listens), dances, draws and goes on Art Adventures, along with illustrated books written & read by Mary Ellen Bryan, Founder of Central Studio Academy.

Look for the tallest mountain to climb or raging rivers to swim across. Discover when love and courage unite, they are unstoppable. Children unlock their own courageous and loving superpowers through a summer of reading, dancing, while learning to draw characters and  create their own sets!   Sample the Daily Activities.

 

Tweens & Teens Drawing Programs:

Jonathan Lev joins CCA in an upper level drawing curriculum, age-appropriated, to learn to SEE & Draw Reaslism with Confidence & Skill with fun daily drawing warm-ups, subject drawing & interesting S.T.E.A.M.- based “Brain” challenges along the way, to create curiosity and anticipation (the answeres are not revealed until the following class.)  “Art Tricks”

All materials are mailed out to you 1-week prior to the start of camp– in a professinal Art Drawing ToolKit. Virtual learning is provided through Google classroom or Zoom and online live-stream session each camp day at 11:20am or 1:20pm.  The weeks culminate in Friday Gallery Days where students learn art etiquette:  How to present their work, discuss art responsibly, respectfully, get and give tips, while learning important art tricks and vocabulary.

 

 Ages 9-12:  Pre-Masters Drawing Class  (2-4 weeks) 

6/15- 6/26  Objects & Architecture (2 weeks)
6/29- 7/10: Landscapes, Nature, Portraits (2 weeks)
Full 4-Week registration saves $80  (recommended for better advancement)

Learn basic art rules:  Once put into action, they become habit.  Warm-up practices in abstraction, followed by application to reaslism each class.  Students learn scale, perspective, composition & values, while making their own choices on subjects. Curriculum is tailored to participants’ interests and levels.

  • Including: 
    • 1 Art ToolKit- per student.  (Includes Sketchbook, diverse drawing tools: graphite pencils, charcoal pencils, coloring tools, kneadable & rubber erasers, smearing stomps.)
    • Daily Live classes to complete a picture (approx. 35-40 min.)
    • Pre-recorded:  Warm-ups and Drawing object of the day  (15-20 min.)
    • Friday “Gallery Day” & Learn How to Critique.

  4. The Golden Ratio:  Fibonacci’s Sequence!   July-August, TBD.

A great week of S.T.E.A.M.-Based learning through ART!  Apply the Golden Spiral’s mathmatical equation to Art (the Mona Lisa) Architecture (Parthenon), Nature (Waves, Plants & Space) and Shapes.  Make art-inspired pieces from Finbonacci’s Sequence.

 

 

Moving and Grooving – With the help of local musicians- Claire is coordinating musical collaborations with “art and music” segments- incorporating different musical instruments with creating art.
