William Kentridge yesterday inspires yet more creative projects for CCA.

Last night, Claire had the honor of meeting Mr. Kentridge at the “Head & the Load” performance at the Park Avenue Armory and shared with him her passion for bringing his work into the classroom for children.

Seeing ART then Making ART from Africa with “Indigo dye”, Patterns, & Silhouettes

Our Art Adventures continued exploring the art of Africa. It was all about textile art, patterns, and symbolism in the indigo dyed- resist cloth banners we viewed at the Met AND made in the classroom! Check out our 5-7’s project results along with their exploration in African Animal Silhouettes.

Art Adventures @ The METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART this week at CCA!

We’re taking our Art Adventure, Studio, and Mini’s classes to the Met this week! Its all about exploring all the different art movements, forms, processes and cultures that the museum has to offer while creating fun and exciting art projects ….in front of famous ART!

This adventure brings us to a few spots @ The Met:

The art of Africa with our 5-7 year old classes, which also coincides with our in-class project inspired by the Adire Eleko textile Art of Yorubaland!

and some new exhibits just opened with our older Studio class!
