Spring is finally here in NYC! We were inspired by our city and the artwork of Romare Bearden (who also took inspiration of this great place & the people in it) these past 2 weeks. So we became urban planners and architects to design our own city!
Week 1 was all about collaging and decoupaging! We used visual and physical pattern/textured papers, and magazine clip art to create a 2D cityscape.
For Week 2 we went 3D! Taking what we learned from designing building through collage, we built our way up! We used familiar and unfamiliar materials including metal (for embossing), scratch art and various other 3D elements to bring our 2D city to life.
